Forget peanuts, popcorn and Cracker Jacks.
How about Philly cheesesteak sliders, Beef Wellington, shrimp kebabs, and lobster mac and cheese? Plus, unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks.
That’s what members of the LECOM Legends Club at CoolToday Park enjoy.
The 6,000-square-foot air-conditioned VIP room behind home plate is the ideal spot to enjoy the game and unlimited refreshments. Members can pop in and out, sitting in the stadium for part of the game and going into the club with lounge seating for food and drinks. Video monitors ensure that they see all the action.
“This is an exclusive, very unique space that allows fans to enjoy the game from a different perspective,” says Mike Dunn, vice president of Florida Operations for the Atlanta Braves. “An all-inclusive room is a trend in ballparks.”
The Braves approached Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) about partnering on the room that opened this past March. The medical college has a campus in Bradenton.
The décor of photos and memorabilia pays homage to Atlanta Braves legends such as Bobby Cox, Hank Aaron, Andrew Jones, David Justice, Ralph Garr and John Smoltz.
“It’s a room where we showcase some of their contributions to the club,” Mr. Dunn says. “Some of our programming throughout season hopefully entails some of the legends.”
Through a private entrance, club members enjoy hospitality before, during and after the games. This includes gourmet snacks, a hot buffet, a dessert bar and unlimited wine, beer and soft drinks. Other drinks are available for purchase at the full bar.
The spring training season includes 16 games, but LECOM Legends Club members are invited to exclusive as well as discounted public events throughout the year, such as wine tastings, whiskey tastings, dances and comedy shows.
Non-members can lease the club area for weddings, holiday parties and other special events. There is room for a stage and dance floor.
“The space is very warm and inviting to the baseball spectator and the non-baseball attendees,” Mr. Dunn says.
Just 100 memberships, each including two guests, are available. Mr. Dunn says a day pass is being considered for 2022.
